CONTENT MANAGEMENT...

Content Management is without a doubt your company's treasure box. It contains all the vital information about your products, services and organisation. What however if you do not have the key to open it...

This issue is where our solutions can serve you. Content Management System (CMS) is the core to all our solutions. However, we always keep the need to publish the data in mind. There comes a time that you need to publish your data. Just exporting to an XML file does not suffice. This is where database publishing comes in: automatic publishing to any media, in any format, at any time.

Some issues which are important in CMS and available in our solution:

Content storage independent of publishing channel
Content data is stored in a truly form-independent way. Therefore it is easy to publish the same content to various channels such as print and online.

Should any formatting be required (Bold, Italic, Underline or any other type), then we ensure we comply with the W3C conventions. Using this as a basis we can simply 'map' these tags to the formatting possibilities of each channel.

Media Asset management
X-Channel Solutions features an integrated MAM system that supports all the possible graphical formats such as GIF, JPG, TIF, EPS, DXF en PDF. Additionally documents in other formats such as Word en Excel can also be stored in the same way.

Modular system
Our systems are modular which means that we do not have a 'one size fits all' principle. The requirements of a 3 man business are different than those of a 15.000 person multi-national. This way we can scale the solution to your business needs and you can expand your system as you grow or as your business evolves.

User management
When using the system with multiple users you have the possibility to set the rights of each individual user or group. In this way the system administrator can control the access for reading, editing and deleting data.

Flexible data-exchange
Lately the focus has been more and more towards exchanging data in a structured manner. Just exporting XML however is usually not enough. This still leaves you with the interpretation of this XML on the other hand. Therefore certain standards have been developed in the marketplace. Nowadays you can export your data based on standards such as xCBL, cXML or BMEcat: all well-known and adopted industry-standards.

Classification
In addition to flexible data exchange, you can use specific sector-based classifications to store your product data. Industry-standards for structuring your data such as ETIM, eCl@ss, UNSPSC are available to map your own attributes to the market standard classification.

Back-office integration
Every organisation has a system to store some product data. These range from ERP through to an existing CMS. It is not always that simple to publish this data though.

Often there is information missing that needs to be added somewhere. Furthermore there are limits as to how this data can be structured or classified so that it can be used to publish to a paper catalog for instance.

That is one reason why X-Channel Solutions has various solutions to connect to existing systems, whether directly or indirectly. This can be indirectly using an Export/Import mechanism or directly through creating a live-link, often based on an SQL statement.
