Hamamatsu Photonics
- automate website for several countries
- implement web-based CMS
- regionalization of data
Challenge
Hamamatsu Photonics, with headquarters on the island with the same name in Japan, is the world market leader for professional photo-optical material. Specialised in Photo IC’s, IR detectors, X-Ray camera’s and UV scanners, Hamamatsu is a leader across all the regions they are present in (Europe, Asia and the U. S.).
After a long search to find the suitable CMS, Hamamatsu finally found Guideline Belgium. Blue Martini, JUICE and Microsoft CMS were inspected and compared but did not satisfy Hamamatsu’s requirements and objectives.
Solution
The core to the successful automation of the various Hamamatsu websites would lie in the parametric search functionality, whereby their complex technical products can be found by searching on a combination of up to 80 attributes.
To guide a user through the maze of their products, Hamamatsu makes use of Guideline’s parametric search where products can be found and compared according to specific customer requirements or specifications.
The Hamamatsu website does not only contain product related information. In using xCS.content, the subsidiaries of Hamamatsu can maintain their own contact information. Furthermore, each subsidiary can maintain sections such as events and product data specific to their region.
