Challenge

Novelta is one of Belgium’s most prominent wholesalers of paint and decorating equipment and consumables such as brushes, ladders, heavy equipment, carpets, etc. Typical customers include both small and large decorating companies.

The yearly price list is an essential sales tool for Novelta as this is regarded as the reference for customers who search for a particular product, and wish to know the order code, price and a basic description of the product.

 

Approach

Guideline proceeded to build the prototype as defined in the Quickscan. Using sample data from the existing Progress database and data manually entered, a complete set of data was made available. Guideline was then able to present the product information management process as well as generate a price list with the lay-out as defined by Novelta. Impressed by the ease of use and the quality of the price list that was generated without any pre-press knowledge, Novelta proceeded to finalise the project scope. Guideline could submit the fixed price proposal to complete the project, including lay-out building, training, etc.

 

Benefits

Novelta has greatly increased its communication with their customers. Previously a catalogue would be available most years, and it would contain 80% of the products they sell. This is a thing of the past.

Novelta now produces four catalogues, two cover all the products commercialised, and two more for specific product lines with different branding. Furthermore, much time was invested in providing images and descriptions for all products.
